During filming of this documentary, the 2007 Kenyan Presidential election took place. Polling went smoothly, but the results were not announced for 3 days. Ethnic violence broke out across the country, killing over 1,500 people and displacing 600,000 others. In Eldoret, Kenya, many Kikuyus were trapped in a church and burned to death, an incident reminiscent of the beginnings of the Rwandan genocide.
Chris and his cousin, Wanjiru, who also works for the UN, are stunned by the tragic events that have taken place in their formerly peaceful country. Their dreams for developing Kenya begin to crumble.
