JENNIFER ARNOLD
(Director/Producer) graduated from UCLA and
University of Nairobi with a B.A. in African
History and returned to UCLA for a MFA in Film.
Her award-winning film, MAID OF HONOR screened at
Sundance before airing on HBO/Cinemax and Film 4.
Jennifer returned to Sundance with her internet
series, "The Mullet Chronicles," which was
developed into the documentary, AMERICAN MULLET,
released by Palm Pictures and Lionsgate. Jennifer
also co-directed a documentary for Ethan Coen and
wrote a motorcross script, SPEEDWAY, which was
selected for Berlin Talent Campus’ script clinic,
IFP's No Borders and FIND’s Directors Lab / Fast
Track Program.
PATTI LEE (Producer/DP) is a
Cinematographer and Los Angeles native. After
earning a Bachelors Degree at UCLA's Film School,
Patti began her career in the Set Lighting
Department on movies, commercials and television
shows. Patti's cinematography credits include
"Somebodies" (BET), "The Bernie Mac Show" (FOX),
"Starting Under" (Warner Brothers) and BUNNY,
which was nominated for two Independent Spirit
Awards. Patti has also shot several documentary
projects, among them Sundance Channel's series
"Big Ideas for a Small Planet" and AMERICAN
MULLET.
CARL PFIRMAN (Editor) received
his MFA from the UCLA School of Film and
Television where his thesis film, THE CONFESSION,
won a Student Academy Award. His other film, BOY
NEXT DOOR screened at over 70 international film
festivals and aired on the Sundance Channel,
Northwest Airlines, HBO, Showtime, and Channel 4
(UK). His editorial credits include: the feature
LUCKY MILES, nominated for an IF Award
(Australia); THE HANGED MAN, and ZONA ROSA, a
feature documentary released by Jour de Fete
Films. His commercial work has been honored with
a CLIO award and a GOLD PENCIL from the New York
One Show.
JOAN HUANG (Executive Producer)
and her company CHERRY SKY FILMS have produced
several critically acclaimed independent films
and documentaries including: Better Luck Tomorrow
which was acquired by MTV Films at its 2002
Sundance debut; In the Realms of the Unreal, a
documentary feature directed by Academy Award
winner Jessica Yu, which was short-listed for an
Academy Award in 2004; as well as the feature doc
To you Sweetheart Aloha and Jessica Yu’s
narrative project Ping Pong Playa.
JEFFREY SOROS (Producer)
graduated from Vassar College with a BA in Drama.
After a brief stint as an actor, he worked in
development for companies such as Lightyear
Entertainment and Laurel Productions and
producers such as Philip Hobel and Ira Deutchman.
Mr. Soros founded Considered Entertainment in
2008. This documentary is the company's inaugural
production. Mr. Soros is also President of the
board of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los
Angeles and serves on the boards of the Creative
Capital Foundation, Screenwriter's Colony, and
the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New
Americans.
MICHELLE KARUME (Post Production
Translator) a native Kenyan, was born and raised
in the capital city, Nairobi. Michelle received
her BA in Psychology and Masters in Marriage and
Family Therapy. Michelle's passion is
collaborative care, working with families to
promote health and facilitate positive change.
RUSSELL SHEAFFER (Assistant
Editor) received his B.A. in Film and Media
Studies from UC Irvine where his writing won the
Tonelli Prize for Film Theory. Currently a
Master's Candidate in Cinema Studies at NYU,
Russell is pursuing a mix of film practice and
theory, focusing on the ways in which
representation through film influences our
understanding of gender. His credits
include numerous student films as well as the
trailer for THE HANGED MAN and a series of music
videos sanctioned by national recording artists
THE BRAVERY.
MARCUS LINDGREN (Production
Translator - Sweden), a native of Stockholm,
Sweden, spent a year studying Film Production in
Santa Barbara, California. Marcus has since
returned to Stockholm, where he's continuing his
film studies. His ambiion is to become a
successful producer in the US, and he'll do
whatever it takes to get there.
TYLER HUBBY (Editor) has edited
more than 30 documentaries. Most notable among
them are Welcome to Death Row, the Sundance
award-winning THE DEVIL AND DANIEL JOHNSTON and
DOUBLE TAKE, by Belgian filmmaker Johan
Grimonprez. He also edited the gothic horror
short USHER, by cult director Curtis Harrington,
about whom he also co-directed a short
documentary. He is a graduate of the San
Francisco Art Institute where he studied with
George Kuchar and Ernie Gehr. His subversive and
irreverent short films, featured in the book
Cinema Contra Cinema by British author Jack
Sargeant, have screened internationally.
